My Ducklings.

Called so because I've named them after the 4 kids in the Ducktales series. Now, I can't be entirely sure here. Since I can't see the labels. So I don't know which is which. But I think the top right is the female called "Anki". And the rest are ( in some order or the other ) Knatte, Fnatte and Tjatte.

Yes it's the swedish names. Go figure. I named them like this because I don't know what type of African Violet they are. And it was the first names that came to mind. Didn't remember what color they were either so this was a pleasant surprise when I came back to my old room.

Lilla Blåklockan.

This is the second of two African Violet Minis I got from a friend a while back. I've posted the other one already when it was in bloom. This one took a while longer to get there but finally it did, while I was away ofc. But, she was still at it when I came up to visit. Her name is "Lilla Blåklockan". Roughly translated into "Little Bluebell". I'm sure she has a "proper" english name too but I don't know it. This is also one of the three plants I took with me back home.

Maj.

That's what I've named this little beauty. Because I got her from a woman with the same name. It's a mini African Violet. Don't know the name specifically. So I call her Maj. The woman I got the leaf from had tried to make new plants of the mother plant before, but they never survived. So I had to try for my self ofc.

First thing that happens when I come home with the leaf is that I accidentally drop it and the stem breaks 5mm from the leaf. *sigh* It's a bit short but I planted it anyway and hoped for the best. Last time I saw it nothing had happened. Then a little while ago my mom told me that it had started to grow. Awesome.

This is how it looked when I came up to visit. I don't ( ofc ) remember how the flowers looked but I'm pretty sure it was some kind of mixed white. I guess we'll see in a while, if it stays alive. Damn, just remembered that I forgot to call and say that the leaf had survived. Oh well. I'll get back to her with that later.

African Violets, the babies.

My two latest babies are doing awesome. So happy to see more flowers on the pink one. And the blue one has started to bud up too. I guess I won't be here when he blooms. Gonna have to ask my mom to take a pic of it and send me. Still awesome. <3

African Violet Surprise.

A friend came by a few days ago and had these babies for me. A very awesome surprise. She'd been to a convention of sorts for African Violets and bought them for me. Happy happy joy joy. They are two different mini Violets. One of them had a bud growing. And just the other day it started blooming. It's so tiny and cute. The flower is just about a cm across, and the leafs are about 1,5-2 cm max. The other one is slightly larger in the leafs but not by much. Oh I'm so happy,  I love them. :-)

Surprice.

Finally "home".
Was greeted by this awesome baby in my room.
The last of the African Violet leafs has grown.
Found 2 flowers blossoming and budding.
And only one plant died.
Not that bad.

Plant care.

Yesterday I had some quality time with my plants. I'm so happy every time I check on them and see that they're still alive and doing ok. They're doing much better than last winter. I wonder if it is because I've put them all near the window and maybe the light from there together with the fixture is doing them good.

Last time many of them lost a lot of leafs. But probably much to do with me forgetting to water them properly. This winter is much better. I guess it's good to buy "special" plants that you care even more about. I have a few now who if they died, would make me so miserable. Only had one death so far.

That was a flower I had duplicates of so no worries there. I do hope the remaining one stays alive tho. But now, it's tea time. My room smells of Geraniums and dirt. Nice. And I have a big cup of tea and cupcakes that are waiting for me. It's a good day.

Awh moment.

The third of my four African Violet leafs I planted quite a while ago has started to grow now. It's always such a "awh" moment when I see it. I know I tried making plants like this when I was little, but I didn't have the patience to wait for them to grow. So ofc I never succeeded. But this is now the 4:th plant I've got growing like this. Yes, I am very pleased with my self. If I may say so. The fourth leaf is still green and doesn't show any signs yet of dying so I hope in time she'll grow too.

African Violet.

That's what these little cuties are called in english apparently, African Violet. Kinda cute. I learned this just the other day when an english speaking friend asked what type of flower it was. Had to look it up. Also started wondering why I haven't done that earlier ?

And, yesterday I separated "the twins". They've grown a lot and aren't that small anymore. Too big to stay in the same pot together anyway. And also, one of them is going to be adopted by a friend of mine. I'm so looking forward to find out what colour it has on the flowers. I know, I should have put markers on them. Since I have 4 and they're all different colours. But isn't it a bit more exciting this way ?

I wonder if any of the other 3 little ones will sprout twins too ?
